How to Test Your Joypad, Gamepad or Arcade Stick

Open the online joypad tester and follow these steps. The whole test takes about a minute.

Connect

Plug the controller in via USB or pair it over Bluetooth. For best results use desktop Chrome or Edge on Windows, which expose the most complete Gamepad API data.

Detect

Press any button once. Some browsers hide controllers until the first physical input. The tester then lists the controller name, mapping and axis count.

Check inputs

Press every button, move the D-pad in all four directions, then sweep both analog sticks through their full range while watching the raw axes readout (-1.000 / 1.000).

Supported controllers: Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC gamepads, arcade sticks, leverless controllers and generic USB gamepads.
